Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Kohl's to Close Stores for Thanksgiving 2021
Although Thanksgiving is still a few months away, U.S. retailers have already started announcing holiday plans - and so far they look similar to 2020.
Bed Bath & Beyond has become the latest retailer to announce it will close its stores on Thanksgiving so employees can spend the holiday with their families.
Other chains made similar announcements in early June.

Kohl's announced on June 17 that it would not be opening stores on Thanksgiving Day 2021.
This is the second year in a row that a major retailer has closed its stores on Thanksgiving, a trend that began with fewer crowds during the New Coronavirus pandemic, driving more online sales.
In a statement to USA Today, Best Buy spokesperson KeeganSoutz said, "This year, we will have more ways to make holiday shopping easy and convenient for our customers over Black Friday weekend and throughout the holiday season."
Target, Best Buy, Walmart and Kohl's have also offered voluntary masking options for fully vaccinated customers and employees, except where state and local masking regulations remain in effect.

With few exceptions, almost all major retailers are closing their stores on Thanksgiving 2020.
On the other hand, CVS, Walgreens, some grocery stores and convenience stores are open.
Some retailers are traditionally closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, including Apple, Costco and Sam's Club, as well as home improvement stores Home Depot and Lowe's.
However, the pandemic led retailers to shift Black Friday from a short-sale event to a month-long series of smaller sales that began in early November to encourage shoppers to catch the rush and spread out shopping demand.
According to a report published by CoresightResearch, Black Friday was "the quietest day in 20 years" as foot traffic plummeted due to fears of a new pandemic.
However, online sales surged during the traditional shopping period and Cyber Monday.
